Street Maintenance

Street Maintenance, Signage, and Markings

The Public Works Department provides roadway maintenance for the approximate 16 miles of streets and alleys in the Borough.  Maintenance includes stabilization of sink holes, pothole repairs, crack sealing, and minor reconstruction and paving.  The Borough contracts major street restoration projects including the installation of storm water inlets, roadway reconstruction, and large scale roadway paving.  The Borough has adopted a five-year Roadway and Alley Pavement Condition Survey which provides the Borough with a cost effective pavement management program designed to prioritize and budget for capital street improvements over a five-year period.

The Public Works Department also is responsible for the installation and maintenance of street name signs, pavement and curb markings, regulatory speed signs, and temporary signs.
