DON'T FEEL ELECTRONIC SPEED SIGNS WILL BE EFFECTIVE ENOUGH COULD ACTUALLY MAKE PROBLEM WORSE DUE TO KIDS AND THERE ABILITY TO FOLLOW RULES NOW DAYS. SPEED BUMPS WOULD BE EFFECTIVE BUT COULD CAUSE MAINT ISSUES AND SNOW PLOWING ISSUES. STOPS SIGNS WOULD BE THE MOST EFFECTIVE SOLVE FOR THIS SITUATION OR EAST COCALICO SITTING ON 7TH MORE OFTEN.

As a parent of a young child I feel as though the fire siren shouldn’t sound unless there is a need for an evacuation. In this day and age the technology is so great there is no need for it to go off anymore. Most fire fighters have pagers, scanners and even apps for their phones to alert them of a fire or ambulance call. Many other fire departments around the area including New Holland fire department no longer sound the siren. My child is awoken by the siren on a weekly basis. It frightens him so much it’s very hard to get him to go back to sleep. I’m sure other parents along with third shift workers would agree with me that the fire siren is no longer needed and that it is a nusience.

Being a resident on Main St. creates a problem when motorists speed out front and create unnecessary noise that sitting out front is unbearable. I suggest you slow them down by electronic speed signs or speed bumps. I am aware that you cannot post a policeman out front, but, if you did, he would be chasing many speeders, I can guarantee that. So please slow these folks down, this is Main Street, not Maple Grove Speedway.

I recently learned about an initiative called "Homegrown National Park" (https://homegrownnationalpark.org) that seeks to motivate people to use their lawns as special places that preserve habitats and care for the earth. Imagine your lawn is a mini national park. I'm trying to garden and plant native species in my lawn so that I can be "on the map". I'm wondering if this would be something the Borough could be involved in as well? I've noticed habitats and such in the park, and mentions of ideas like this in the newsletter.

Locust St., between 7th and 9th streets is like the Indy 500 in the evenings. We have so many children in the neighborhood, and I'm so afraid one day one of them will be hurt by the fast drivers. All it would take is a ball going out in the street, and a little one chasing it. People drive so fast there is no way they could stop on time. PLEASE, give this idea some consideration!

I moved into Denver Borough about a year ago. I was recently jogging from my house on Beech St. through downtown Denver. I was so disgusted by the amount of dog poop on the sidewalks. I actually counted about 10-15 different times I came across it on this quick little jog. It was also disturbing how many cigarettes butts were littered throughout the sidewalk as well. It seems to me, many people are walking their dogs around town and it might help clean up the place if there were bags available at various locations. I am not sure what to do about the rest of the litter. Downtown is a bit disappointing in general.
