Miss Denver Fair lighting the Christmas tree

The Denver Community is invited to begin the holiday season as the Borough of Denver sponsors the Annual Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony on Sunday, December 7, 2025, starting at 4:00 pm at the Municipal Building with the official lighting of the tree at 5:00 pm.

The 2025 Tree Lighting Ceremony will have something for everyone including hot dogs, empanadas, Holiday Treat Bags, crafts, story time in front of the tree, and of course, Santa Claus! The Borough will set up separate stations on Main Street, between the Municipal Building and the Municipal Garage, where participants can choose from hot dogs and sauerkraut, empanadas, hot cocoa, pretzels, oranges, and pick up a Holiday Treat Bag, while supplies last.

Mount Zion Baptist Church will have a children's craft to complete while all participants enjoy the seasonal sounds of live music played during the vent. Mrs. Claus form the Adamstown Area Library will lead a story time at 4:45 pm for the children.

Representatives from the Borough will officially kick off the holiday season with a few words followed by 2025 Ms. Denver Fair Annalee McCray magically turning the lights on at the tree. Santa Claus will arrive in style to greet participants and following the tree lighting ceremony parents and children are invited to meet with Santa Claus in the Borough Council Meeting Room for a photo opportunity (please bring your own camera). All children who meet with Santa Claus will receive a candy cane and the Denver Lion's Club will be handing out a small toy to each child.

In the essence of the true meaning of the season, attendees are asked to donate a non-perishable can or boxed food item which will be donated to Peter's Porch Food Bank and redistributed to people in our community this holiday season. Volunteers from Peter's Porch will have multiple collection bins located around the Municipal Building to collect the non-perishable food donations.

Thank you to the following for your donations and support of our Denver community: Denver Meat Company, Weaver Markets, Castaneda's, Courtyard Cafe, Good's Potato Chips, Pepperidge Farms, Unruh Insurance Agency Inc., Members 1st Federal Credit Union, Redner's Warehouse Markets, Mount Zion Baptist Church, Trinity UMC, Adamstown Area Library, Roseboro-Stradling Funeral Home, Philly Pretzel Factory - Lititz, Rob Rissler, Denver Fire Co., and the Denver Lion's Club.
