Denver Borough’s 2026 Capital Project Summary
The Borough has scheduled the following infrastructure improvement projects for 2026. Funding for these projects will be provided through combinations of grant funds, General Fund tax dollars; and water system rates and fees:
Spruce Street Water Main Replacement Project
Includes the replacement of 450 linear feet of six-inch (6”) cast iron water main on Spruce Street between North 4th Street and North 5th Street with 450 linear feet of six-inch (6”) ductile iron water main; the installation of 13 new water service lines from the new water main to the shut-off valves for each of the residential properties on Spruce Street; the installation of two (2) new water main street valves; the installation of one (1) new fire hydrant and one (1) new fire hydrant valve; and, the repaving of the water line trench with base repair in anticipation of a future roadway paving.
Spruce Street ADA Ramp and Paving Project
Includes reconstructing and repaving Spruce Street from North 4th Street to North 5th Street; installing six (6) ADA accessible sidewalk ramps in the 400-block of Spruce Street; four (4) ADA accessible sidewalk ramps in the 500-block of Spruce Street; installing thermoplastic lane markings including crosswalks, stop bars, and bicycle lane/bicycle boulevard markings; and completing engineering design and bidding services. Project also will include curb and sidewalk repairs/replacement funded by property owners.
Main Street Storm Sewer Improvement Project
Includes the installation of two (2) PennDOT Type M inlets; 53 feet of 8” Class S2 Ductile Iron Pipe; curbing and sidewalk restoration, and milling and paving of 30 square yards of Main Street by the entrance at the Turkey Hill driveway adjacent to the railroad tracks.
Denver Community Pool Pickleball Court and Pathway Project
Includes the installation of a new 34’ X 64’ paved pickleball court located on the Denver Community Pool property; a paved ADA parking space; a 5-feet wide ADA-accessible macadam pathway connecting the parking space to the court; a 1,500 linear feet macadam perimeter loop trail; nine (9) security cameras and a DVR recording system; 175-feet of 6-feet high chain link fence with an accessible access gate; two (2) park benches; one (1) trash receptacle; four (4) shade trees; and three (3) signs including a DCNR project sign.
