Property owners can expect to receive their Change of Assessment Notices in June 2026. The notice will reflect the County’s estimated market value of each property.
IMPORTANT- Once you receive your new assessment notice, you cannot apply the 2026 millage rate to your new assessment to calculate your tax liability. Millage rates will be adjusted downwards for 2027.
Upon receiving the notice, property owners should determine if the value reflects current market value, and whether they would reasonably be able to sell their property at the stated estimated market value. If the answer is yes, no further action is required. If the answer is no, property owners will have a 40-day appeal period. Property owners are encouraged to review the appeal rules and regulations available on the Property Assessment Office website for additional guidance.
